The Need

In order for the Great Commission to be effectively accomplished, African pastors and church leaders must be instructed in all that Christ has commanded so that they can shepherd African believers to make culturally appropriate applications of these commands. We believe that the task of theological training for pastors and other church leaders is, itself, an aspect of the Great Commission, one that is essential to the health and maturity of Christ’s Body. Right now in sub-Saharan Africa, particularly Zambia, a widespread acceptance of Christianity (though nominal), combined with shallow Scriptural understanding and spiritual hunger on the personal level, has created a unique opportunity for the gospel which could be decisive in influencing the course of the African church perceivably for the next few centuries.
